Taking Pictures, Telling Stories, Being Human  
Works by the Dispatch photography staff will be on view at the Ohio Historical Center through July 25. Ranging from single photos to multimple images, the 14 works include feature and hard-news photos. A panel discussion, "Taking Pictures, Telling Stories, Being Human," will take place Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. Moderated by Dispatch columnist Mike Harden, the panel will include Karl Kuntz, Dispatch managing editor for visuals; and staff photographers Chris Russell, the 2007 Ohio News Photographers Association photographer of the year; Eric Albrecht, a five-time ONPA photographer of the year; and Shari Lewis, third-place winner for feature picture story and second for best online feature video in the 2007 ONPA contest. The role of photography in recording key historical moments, the photographer's role in covering an event and the effect taking photos has on them will be discussed. Best of the rest from 2008
